Mobile application developers frequently write their app for the platform they have on their own pocket and are left with no easy solution for growing the user base across other device platforms. LockerGnome’s Jake Ludington talks with Rhomobile’s Jay Mellman about how their Rhodes development tools allow software developers to write an application once and deploy it across iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile with WebOS and Symbian coming soon. A couple of key difference between Rhomobile and other cross-platform development solutions is native compiling of the scripting used in creating the applications and the ability to have a device native data store to all for offline functionality and faster performance. The Rhodes applications are native Ruby tools, but support API hooks from whatever programming language you used to develop your mobile app.
